Senior Fellow Rosa Furneaux joins Reuters on Fellowship

Senior Fellow Rosa Furneaux has left TBIJ to join Reuters as the new Sir Harry Evans Global Fellow in Investigate Journalism.

Commenting on X/Twitter, Rosa said: “The Bureau took a chance on me, a fairly inexperienced but very hungry reporter, and gave me the time, space and support to try really big things. I have loved my beat, loved finding my niche in access to medicine issues, and loved working with my brilliant, passionate colleagues. […] I will miss this place, and its fierce determination, so much. I could not have been luckier to start my career here.”

Reuters, in their press release, said: “Ms. Furneaux has already reported on major failures by Covid-19 vaccine platform Covax; exposed some of the baby formula industry’s unethical marketing techniques in Asia; and revealed the global spread of a substandard, contaminated cancer medicine. The Sir Harry Evans Fellowship Committee was particularly impressed with Ms. Furneaux’s moral conviction, gravitas and focus on exposing wrong-doing. She was chosen out of more than 400 applicants to be the 2024 Sir Harry Evans Global Fellow and will take up her role early next year.”
