Congratulations to Noel Phillips, for winning the 2022 Royal Television Society and JST Young Talent of the Year award.

Noel said, “I am honoured to receive this award in such an outstanding field. I feel very privileged to have this platform at Good Morning Britain to provide a voice to people and stories that matter. I hope this recognition will inspire young people and encourage them to be focused, relentless and determined in chasing their dreams.”

Whilst working as North America Correspondent for ITV’s flagship morning programme, Good Morning Britain, Noel has covered a number of breaking news and entertainment stories, from the trial of Derek Chauvin, to reporting exclusively on the U.S.-Mexico border crisis, and the Oscar awards.

The Young Talent of the Year category was established in 1996, in memory of John Schofield. As well as the prestige of being named RTS Young Talent of the Year, the award attracts a bursary of £1,500. In addition, many of the past winners have since progressed to become well known faces within the news industry. Noel will join a prestigious list of past winners which includes Martha Kelner (2020), Ciaran Jenkins (2013) and Rohit Kachroo (2011).

The full list of winners on the night can be found on the RTS website.
