Mentee Linzi takes new role at BBC South Today

Linzi Kinghorn

Mentee Linzi Kinghorn has been appointed as broadcast journalist at BBC South Today.

The role will include a variety of production roles, but also offers the prospect of reporting and presenting.

Linzi says, ‘This is the local BBC regional TV programme which I pick up at home in Dorset, so it’s very exciting to be working in a region which I know well and have grown up in.

‘The area covers the whole south region, from Dorset, through Hampshire and parts of Wiltshire, across to West Sussex, through Surrey and up to parts of Berkshire. So it’s quite a large and busy patch, with plenty of stories to get my teeth stuck into.

‘I’m delighted to have been offered this opportunity for an initial nine months, and am very excited to be able to bring some of my original ideas to life and to tell the stories that matter to people living in the south of England.’

Linzi also thanked her Trust mentor, Tessa Chapman, for all her support and advice along the way.

Congratulations, Linzi, and good luck in the new role!
