Volunteers’ Week 2021 gives us the opportunity to reflect the enormous debt we owe to the hundreds of people who volunteer for the John Schofield Trust.
In this last year alone, we have benefited from the contribution of no fewer than 225 volunteers. They help as mentors to early career journalists, online mentors to college and sixth form students, masterclass speakers, champions, advisers and trustees – and many of our volunteers serve in more than one capacity.
Trust CEO, David Stenhouse, says that ‘people are the John Schofield Trust’s greatest asset. Without our volunteers’ contributions, given freely and willingly, we would fail in our vision to make UK newsrooms as diverse as the people they serve. Our debt to them is immeasurable and we thank them all.’
Thank you!
