2017 mentee Charlotte Gay is heading down to Cornwall for a four-month on-screen reporting attachment.

There, she will be covering stories from the international politics of the G7 summit to the impact on the region of the rise in domestic holidays during the pandemic.

Charlotte says, ‘I am thrilled to be heading to one of the most beautiful parts of our region as part of shared maternity cover in Cornwall this summer.

‘I grew up on the North Devon and Cornwall border so I’m hoping my local connections will come in handy.

‘One of my first stories will have to be about how difficult it is to get accommodation this summer, as I have personally realised how competitive it is to find a place to live.’
