2018 mentee Siri Thomas is starting a new job as a production journalist with ITV Wales in Cardiff.
It’s a role she’s been doing in Bristol for nearly two years after completing the apprenticeship and trainee scheme with ITV News.
Siri says: ‘I’m joining at such an important time for Wales as the Senedd election takes place in my first few weeks. Also being able to produce and write for a broadcaster that covers a whole nation will allow me to really develop my journalism skills and better understand devolved politics.
‘In the past 3.5 years in regional news I’ve been able to cover festivals, major sporting events, climate protests, general elections and in the past 12 months – the pandemic and Bristol riots. I’m so amazed by the variety of stories regional news offers and I can’t wait to focus on news for the whole of Wales and see where this next journey takes me.’
