2023 John Schofield Fellow Gergana Krasteva has been promoted to Senior Foreign News Reporter at Metro UK.
Gergana has been covering news in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and focusing on Russia’s war in Ukraine.
She has reported from several countries, including Moldova and Georgia.
Gergana says: ‘I learnt so much from my fellowship last year and my mentor Gabriel Gatehouse was wonderfully supportive and continues to be.
When I told him I want to report on foreign news, he said: “Buy a ticket and just go”. Still, the best advice.’
Amrit has won ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Awards.

Tristan left his Video Journalist and Producer role at The Associated Press in January and immediately joined PinkNews as their first International Senior Producer. Tristan is now overseeing the international video output of the Gen-Z publisher, as well as international affairs stories.
