The John Schofield Trust has been nominated for one of The National Diversity Awards, the Community Organisation (Multi-Strand) category.

Founder, Susie Schofield, says ‘it would be brilliant to be recognised for the brilliant work our 225 volunteers do in supporting early career and aspiring journalists. The under-representation of those from disadvantaged backgrounds is a particular problem within journalism and the Trust works tirelessly across the news industry to make UK newsrooms as diverse as the audiences they serve. The faces and voices of under-represented groups need to be seen and heard in the media so that their stories and perspectives are shared’.
