Vincent McAviney (2013) has covered a piece of cricketing history!
His story, which aired on 5 News last week, showed the preparations for the first game ever between two LGBTQ+ cricket teams – London’s Graces Cricket Club and the Birmingham Unicorns Cricket Club – just in time for Pride Month, which runs for the whole of June.
Vincent’s report also touched on the homophobic legacy of Britain’s colonial era, something that still affects many LGBTQ+ people around the world today.
You can watch Vincent’s report below.
Congratulations to the Graces CC, who won the friendly match by 40 runs!
