Serena celebrates a year working as a senior manager with AI firm, Dataminr.

Serena was recently promoted to Associate Director at Dataminr. The tech company’s AI platform detects the earliest sign of high-impact events and emerging risks from within publicly available data and has been recognised at the AI and Machine Learning Awards. Serena started working for the company just weeks before the first lockdown, and had to overcome the challenges of a new job, new team, and working remotely.  

Serena was a mentee on our 2013 mentoring scheme for early career journalists. She was mentored by the BBC’s Middle East Editor, Jeremy Bowen.
