Hot on the heels of the news that she’d been named in a prestigious ’30 To Watch’ list, 2020 mentee Layla Wright has been recognised once more.
Layla tweeted last week that she had attended the virtual ARIAS to receive her award for being part of the Radio Academy’s ’30 Under 30′ Class of 2020.
The list, which is released in October of each year, includes former winners such as Inzamam Rashid, who won in 2018, and who recently appeared on the same ’30 To Watch’ list as Layla.
Layla said of the award, ‘It was brilliant to finally celebrate being on Radio Academy’s “30 Under 30” list, at the ARIAS – the biggest night in audio.
‘I’ve looked up to so many broadcasters on that list over the years so to make it on there myself feels amazing.’
Layla’s win was particularly important for her as it brought back memories of writing an A-level English essay on the glass ceiling and gender equality in radio.
Congratulations, Layla!
