2022 Fellow Ellis Palmer Babe was invited to Liverpool John Moores University to talk about his career so far.

Ellis was invited by former Sky Sports’ cricket reporter Tim Abraham, now a lecturer at John Moores University in Liverpool, to talk to a mix of journalism and sports journalism students about his career at Sky Sports and BBC News so far.

He said, “it was great to be able to speak to students at my local technical university about my career so far. We discussed the role that journalism can play in highlighting inequities in modern society, the importance of diversity in the media and how newsrooms can overcome current challenges to achieve greater diversity in a way that is meaningful to the audiences they seek to reach, and also some of the challenges I faced as a disabled early career journalist from outside of London.”
