Fellow Charlotte Gay (2017) has been made a permanent Cornwall reporter for ITV West Country.
Announcing the news on Twitter she talked about her journey so far, including the bumps along the way:
Nearly four years to this day I left my full time radio reporter job because I felt like the only way forward was to move to London.

In that time I have poured myself into:
14 job applications
9 we’re unsuccessful – including 3 where I wasn’t asked to interview.
3 led to reporting attachments.
1 got me through the door at ITV.
1 (finally) got me the reporting job I’ve wanted since 2018.— Charlotte Gay (@CharlotteGay_) March 23, 2022
I’m not writing this thread to look for praise or sympathy, I just know how hard I found it when it felt like other people were getting their dream job and I was working hard but things were moving much slower.
