The BBC has renewed its funding commitment to the John Schofield Trust for the next three years.
In a statement, Katie Lloyd, Development Director, BBC News and Current Affairs, said: ‘We are delighted to continue our support for the John Schofield Trust.
‘Mentoring is vital way to bring more diversity into newsrooms and shape the next generation of talent.’
John Schofield Trust CEO David Stenhouse said: ‘The Trust thanks the BBC for its continuing support for our efforts to increase the diversity of the broadcast media.
‘Our #NewsroomsForAll campaign is focussed on making UK newsrooms more reflective of the people they serve.
‘Only an inclusive news media can accurately reflect our diverse nation. Financial support is vital if the Trust is to be able to continue our work.’
