2021 Fellow Finbarr Toesland was published in The Times on 30th March, reporting on the utility of cryptocurrency technology as an alternative to traditional bank lending as part of the Raconteur Cryptocurrencies report.
Finbarr’s investigation speculated on the prospect of the multi-billion-pound crypto loan market as a serious alternative to conventional banks. Lenders and consultants interviewed for the article suggested that large financial institutions are at risk of losing customers to innovative crypto lenders. Despite the regulatory pressures, it may not be long before customers of high-street banks consider crypto loans, particularly as crypto adoption grows.
