Lora Jones is a journalist at the BBC’s Business Unit in London. She is a mentee on our 2019-20 mentoring scheme, paired with Matt Brindley, head of output at ITV News. Lora writes:
‘I work as a journalist specialising in business and economics, and at the time of joining the John Schofield Trust’s mentoring scheme, I had little on-air experience. My mentor has encouraged me to take on new opportunities and given me invaluable feedback.
Since then I’ve done two-ways for BBC Radio 4, Newsbeat and 5Live, and more recently a video explainer for the BBC News website on what exactly a recession means, and more importantly, what it can mean for people’s finances. It was also broadcast on BBC World TV and its new service for smart speakers.’
